Every time I step into the studio these days, I feel like I’ve entered an art gallery, what with Jeannee Sacken’s beautiful photographs of women from around the world gracing our wall.

It’s impossible to look at them without beginning a story, character sketch or poem in my mind…

Many thanks to Jeannee for sharing her gorgeous photographs and spot-on feedback with our writers.

We are certainly fortunate to have her in our community!

I’d like to say it was the best-kept secret in the Milwaukee literary scene, but since we packed the place, I’m not sure we can call it a secret anymore. What I can say is that our latest On the Road Writers’ Showcase was a marvelous evening with a wide variety of well-crafted pieces, delivered with passion and professionalism. Many thanks to our readers as well as the enthusiastic audience. YOU make our community a unique and special place for writers!

Our Tuesday evening Inkslingers christened the new studio with terrific writing, astute feedback and a laugh or two. We still need to get the white board hung and something homey for the large blank space on the wall. Otherwise, it’s already feeling very much like home. Looking forward to filling it with writers in our Fall Roundtables!
