Karen shares advice about the importance of book cover design. "It's your baby; it deserves the best possible chance to catch people's attention."
I especially love this photograph of Karen because it is from a self-publishing workshop she led at RedBird-RedOak Writing. She’s sharing the cover of her self-published book Easily Amused, a book that has since been published by AmazonEncore and now by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (along with another of her novels, A Scattered Life). Karen’s story is a terrific example of how a hard-working writer can make her own “luck” when it comes to getting her writing published.
Here’s our chance to support Karen and all the other “little” writers like her who continue to hone their craft, forge connections with readers and pave the way for the writers who will come after them.
