“Guilty Pleasures”
Sharing our “guilty pleasures,” those things we do just for the pure enjoyment of it, is a great way to break the ice as well as get some great ideas for fiction, nonfiction and poetry. What does each of the following make you want to write about?
- Eating chocolate when no one is looking
- Staying up really late writing
- Reading when your mom wants you to come downstairs or while you eat
- Riding horses
- Playing too much computer
- IM-ing your friend for a really long time
- Slipping a little too much of something nasty your mom took so long to make to the dog
- Finishing your homework while the teacher is talking
- Traveling to Austria
- Reading late at night
- Eating one too many cookies from the jar
- Drawing on fake tattoos and getting your ears pierced
- “Tasting” too much while making brownies
- Reading poetry in bed after everyone’s asleep
- Sitting down and relaxing
- Reading too much
- Rollerblading after dinner
- Writing during silent reading time
